Why Choose an MTAC
Teacher?
Active members of MTAC have a degree in music or equivalent
and a minimum of 2 years teaching experience. By studying with an MTAC
member teacher, students have the opportunity to participate in annual
Certificate of Merit Evaluations and have access to a broad range of programs
and festivals offered by MTAC.
Why Become an MTAC
Member Teacher?
Membership in MTAC entitles teachers and their students to
participate in all the various programs. All members receive the California
Music Teachers quarterly professional journal, discount rates on MTAC
educational materials and other merchandise, advertising in the journal,
convention exhibit space, and annual convention registration.
More importantly, membership allows teachers to enhance their
professional standing, to participate in local branch musical activities and
to enjoy the personal enrichment of fellowship with their peers.
The Annual convention offers continuing education and
knowledge enhancement for music teachers and serves as a showcase for
outstanding students. Approximately 1,500 students perform annually at
the MTAC Convention. Convention performances represent the culmination
of a year's teaching and learning efforts and offers inspiration through
lectures, artist recitals and master classes for the year and years to come.
